Lipigran wheat germ oil is obtained from fresh wheat germs by gentle methods of purification and partial de-acidification and has a mild wheat flavour. The manufacturing process used to obtain Lipigran wheat germ oil preserves the full nutritional value. Through partial deacidification, the content of free fatty acids is reduced to such an extent that the oil has a mild nutty taste.
Wheat germ oil naturally contains a high content of tocopherols (vitamin E) compared to other plant oils. Lipigran wheat germ oil provides this tocopherol content in a consistent quality and amount.
Vitamin E helps to protect cells from oxidative stress. The high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids is also an important feature. The use of unsaturated fatty acids instead of saturated fatty acids in the diet helps to maintain a normal cholesterol level in the blood.
