Protection of Data Privacy

Data Privacy Statement

We, Dr. Grandel GmbH, take the protection of your personal information seriously and maintain strict compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act (DSG). The personal information provided by you is collected, stored and used by us according to the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

The explanation that follows provides you with an overview of how we assure the protection of your personal information and what types of data are collected for what purpose.

Collection, Processing and Use of your Data

In principle, you can visit our page without providing any personal information.

In its server log files, Dr. Grandel automatically collects and processes information transmitted to us by your browser. Said information includes:

  • Browser type/version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • Host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
  • Time of the server request

These data are evaluated exclusively for the purpose of improving our offering, and cannot be linked to you personally. Should you order goods through our online shop or log on to your customer account, assigning your IP address to you personally would be possible for us in principle.

However, said data are not combined with any other data sources. The data are erased immediately following a statistical analysis.

We only collect, process and use personal information that you disclose to us voluntarily in the course of ordering goods, opening a customer account or subscribing to our newsletter.

We do not use the personal information provided by you for any purpose other than filling and processing your order without your express consent. Once contractual performance is complete and the purchase price has been paid in full, your data are blocked to prevent subsequent use and erased after the retention period pursuant to tax and commercial law regulations, unless you have expressly consented to the further use of your data.

Newsletter

When you subscribe to the newsletter, your e-mail address is used for our own promotional purposes with your consent until you unsubscribe.

If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on our website, we require a valid e-mail address as well as information which allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified e-mail address or that the owner of the e-mail address consents to receiving the newsletter. No other data are collected. At any time and free of charge, you may revoke your consent for the storage of the data, the storage of your e-mail address and its use to send out the newsletter.

Dissemination of Personal Information

Your data are only shared with third parties in order to meet our contractual obligations to you. Such third parties may include the shipping company commissioned for delivery, insofar as this is required for the delivery of the goods. For processing payments, we provide your payment information to the financial institution commissioned for payment. No other dissemination of personal customer information takes place without your consent. We are authorized to disclose your data to the applicable authorities in specific cases, insofar as they request your data for the purpose of exercising their legal powers (e.g. law enforcement). In no case is personal information collected from you sold to third parties.

Use of Cookies

The website uses several so-called cookies. These are intended to make our offering more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. Most of the cookies used by us are so-called session cookies. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit.

Other cookies remain on your computer and allow us to recognize your computer the next time you visit (so-called permanent cookies). These cookies allow us to greet you with your username and eliminate the need to re-enter your password or fill out forms with your information for subsequent orders.

Cookies do not damage your computer, nor contain any viruses.

You may change your browser settings at any time to prevent the use of cookies by activating the function “do not accept cookies”. However, please be aware that you may not be able to fully utilize our website in this case.

Web Analysis Services (Google Analytics)

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called cookies, which are text files that are stored on your computer and permit your use of the website to be analyzed. Information on your use of this website generated by cookies is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA for storage. However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address is first truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other member states of the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. By order of the website operator, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide other services associated with internet use to the website operator. The IP address transmitted to Google Analytics by your browser is not combined with other Google data. You may prevent the storage of cookies by changing your browser settings accordingly. However, please be advised that you may not be able to fully utilize all functions of this website in that case. You may also prevent the capture of data generated by cookies and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of said data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).

For more information, please visit http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de or http://www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html (general information on Google Analytics and the protection of data privacy). Please note that Google Analytics on this website was expanded with the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” in order to ensure the anonymized recording of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).

Use of Facebook Social Plug-ins

Our website uses the “Like” button of the social network facebook.com. This specialized service is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The button is identified by the Facebook logo and the text “Like”.

When you access a page on our website that contains the button and provide your consent, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plug-in is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated in the website by the browser.

Upon access, Facebook therefore receives the information that somebody has accessed the corresponding page on our website. If you are logged on to Facebook at that moment, Facebook can assign the visit or access to the web page to your Facebook account – even if you do not click the button. When you click the “Like” button, the corresponding information is transmitted by your browser directly to Facebook where it is stored.

For information about the purpose and scope of data collection as well at the further processing and use of the data by Facebook and your options for changing settings in order to protect your privacy, please consult the Facebook guidelines for the protection of data privacy.

If you do not want Facebook to collect your personal information through our website, do not activate the Facebook social plug-in and log off Facebook before visiting our website.

Credit Check and Scoring

In case of advance performance, for example sales on account, we may request a credit report on the basis of mathematical-statistical methods from infoscore Consumer Data GmbH, Rheinstr. 99, 76532 Baden-Baden in order to protect our legitimate interests. In order to do so, we provide infoscore Consumer Data GmbH with personal information required for a credit check and use the information we receive regarding the statistical probability of default to reach a balanced decision to enter into, realize and terminate the contractual relationship.

The credit report may contain probability values (scores) calculated on the basis of recognized mathematical-statistical methods; among other things, address data are incorporated in the calculation. The protection of your legitimate interests is assured pursuant to the applicable legal provisions.
